SIGI SCHMID
Head Coach, Seattle Sounders FC

Sigi Schmid was named the first head coach of Seattle Sounders FC on December 16, 2008, and is recognized as one of the most successful coaches in MLS history. Since 1999, Schmid’s teams have won six major titles, including two MLS Cups.

DEAN WURZBERGER
Head Coach, University of Washington Men's Soccer

Dean Wurzberger enters his 19th year as Washington men’s soccer head coach. The 2004 Pac-10 Co-Coach of the Year and the all-time winningest coach in program history, Wurzberger has spent nearly two decades building the Husky program into one of the nation's finest fielding teams that annually compete for conference and national championships.

Cliff McCrath is No. 2 in all-time collegiate coaching victories, and is among an exclusive handful of coaches to have directed his teams to five NCAA Championships. Such accomplishments have not gone unnoticed.

EZRA HENDRICKSON
Assistant Coach, Seattle Sounders FC

Ezra Hendrickson was announced as an assistant coach on January 20, 2009 after completing a 14-year professional career, including 12 seasons in Major League Soccer.

Hendrickson played parts of eight seasons for Sigi Schmid, including three in Columbus prior to his retirement. Hendrickson appeared in 266 regular season matches with 225 starts. Playing on defense, he scored 23 goals and added 30 assists. He also played in 32 postseason games with five goals and three assists.

Hendrickson was a member of three MLS Cup championship teams, winning two with Schmid. Together, they won the 2002 MLS Cup with the Los Angeles Galaxy and the 2008 MLS Cup in Columbus. Hendrickson was also with the champion D.C. United team in 2004.
A native of the island of St. Vincent in the Caribbean, Hendrickson began his career in 1997 with the New York MetroStars, before joining the Galaxy later that season. He totaled six seasons in Los Angeles, where he also won the 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup and the 2001 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. He was also named Galaxy’s Most Valuable Player for the 2001 season.

Bravo oversees the club’s domestic and international scouting, the Rapids Youth Academy and supports the Rapids coaching staff in first team operations.

TOM DUTRA
Goalkeeper Coach, Seattle Sounders FC

Tom Dutra was named the Sounders FC goalkeeper coach on December 29, 2008, and is recognized locally for his work in developing young keepers as well as training established professionals.

RALPH PEREZ
Head Coach, University of Redlands

Perez served as the Men’s National Staff Coach for the West Region of the U.S. Soccer Federation since 2005. Beginning in 1978, Perez worked as U.S. National Staff Coach, helping the U.S. Team qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 40 years in 1990. He also led the 1989 World Cup under-20 team to a fourth-place finish, boasting the best results for that team in program history. From 1996 through 2003, he worked as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Galaxy and New York-New Jersey Metrostars, prior to serving as the Director of Coaching and Youth Development from 2003-2005. On the collegiate side, Perez enjoyed head coaching stints at Division I Old Dominion University (VA), Santa Clara University and Cal State Fullerton, along with Division II Cal State San Bernardino (women’s) and Cal State Los Angeles. Finally, Perez began his coaching career at the Division III level in 1974, heading up the men’s program at Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) member, Whittier College. While at ODU, Perez led the Monarchs to their first and only Colonial Athletic Association Championship in 1991. He garnered South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year honors following that accomplishment. Perez helped establish the CSU San Bernardino women’s soccer program in 1988 by serving as the team’s first coach. During his stint at Santa Clara, Perez was named Far West Coach of the Year in 1983.

DAVID TENNEY
Fitness Coach, Seattle Sounders FC


David Tenney was named the Sounders FC fitness coach on January 9, 2009. He is one of Major League Soccer’s most respected and highly-regarded fitness coaches following two years in Kansas City.

During the 2007 and ’08 seasons Tenney served as both fitness and goalkeeper coach for the Wizards. He also holds an ‘A’ license from the Czech Republic F.A. and NSCAA 'Premier' Diploma.
